# Text Rewriting

Let Daxium AI correct and clarify the content of a text field in one click.

Text rewriting lets users improve what they typed in a text [field](/user-documentation/components-concepts-terminology.md#field) with one click: Daxium AI corrects the grammar and spelling and makes the text clearer, while keeping its meaning and its language.

Text rewriting is a Daxium AI feature: Daxium AI must be activated on your [workspace](/user-documentation/components-concepts-terminology.md#workspace) and the feature must be active in the **AI Consumption** menu. ## Compatible fields

Text rewriting is available on **text** fields (see [Simple Fields](/user-documentation/build/building-forms/fields/simple-fields.md#text)).

It is not available on text fields with the **Rich text** option.

## Activating the option on a field

Text rewriting is enabled field by field, in the [form](/user-documentation/components-concepts-terminology.md#form) builder:

1. Open the form and select the text field.
2. In the field settings, tick **Allow AI text improvement**.
3. Save the form.

If Daxium AI or the text rewriting feature is deactivated on the workspace, the option is hidden in the form builder and the fields where it was ticked no longer offer text rewriting.

## Using text rewriting

When filling in a [submission](/user-documentation/components-concepts-terminology.md#submission), the rewrite icon (a sparkle) appears in the field once it contains **more than 10 characters**. Click or tap it to rewrite the text: a loading indicator replaces the icon while Daxium AI processes it.

The whole content of the field is rewritten; you cannot rewrite only part of it. A rewritten text is flagged as optimized by AI in the submission.

AI can make mistakes. Always review and double-check the rewritten text before you save the submission.

### On the web

The sparkle icon is displayed in the text field, in the creation and editing forms of a submission.

The content of the field is directly replaced by the rewritten text. If the result does not suit you, a button lets you restore the original text.

### On mobile

Text rewriting requires the mobile app in version **3.1.2** or later on Android and **2.6.4** or later on iOS. With an older version, the sparkle icon is not displayed.

The rewritten text is shown as a proposal: **accept** it to replace the content of the field, or **reject** it to keep your original text.

## Credits and error cases

* Each completed rewrite uses **one AI credit**, even if you then reject the proposal (mobile) or restore the original text (web).
* When you have used all your monthly credits, the sparkle icon is greyed out and a message tells you when your credits will be available again.
* Without a network connection, a message asks you to try again once online. Entering the rest of the submission offline continues as usual.
* If the rewrite fails, a message asks you to try again. No credit is used.
